How we’ll Work Together
Reward-based training

Punishment is proven to do more harm than good. Instead, using rewards your dog values—like food, toys, or praise—builds trust and makes learning enjoyable.
This method works for all behaviours, even serious challenges, by addressing root causes and helping your dog feel safe and confident.
Training the Trainer

Your dog’s behaviour reflects how they see the world and your guidance. I’ll help you understand their signals, respond effectively, and build trust.
It’s not just about teaching your dog—it’s largely about recognising how your actions shape their behaviour and making changes to set you both up for success.
it’s as easy as a, b, c

We’ll focus on the ABCs of behaviour to create lasting results:
- Antecedents: Tweaking the environment prevents unwanted behaviours before they start.
- Behaviours: Together, we’ll identify the new behaviours you want to encourage.
- Consequences: Rewards will help make those behaviours stick.
what to expect
BEHAVIOUR CONSULTATION
What happens during the session?
We’ll take time to explore your dog’s history, health, and current behaviour challenges. I’ll ask about their daily routine, environment, and any training you’ve tried before. Together, we’ll identify what’s working, what isn’t, and where to focus next.
How can I prepare?
To make the most of our time, jot down specific concerns or examples of your dog’s behaviour in advance. If you have videos of the behaviour, bring those along—they can be incredibly helpful. Recent vet records are also a bonus if your dog has had any health checks. Don’t worry, though—our chat will be relaxed, and I’ll guide you every step of the way.
Why is this step important?
Because I want you to get real value from working with me! While you might see neat ‘packages’ elsewhere, behaviour can’t be tackled in isolation. This essential first step lets us explore your dog’s full story—helping me understand their needs and ensuring we choose the best path forward.
After your consultation, you can continue with a training package (where the consultation fee is deducted) or choose one-off sessions tailored to your goals.
BEHAVIOUR & TRAINING PACKAGE
What can I expect from my training plan?
After our first session, I’ll create a plan tailored to your dog’s unique needs and your goals. It will include management strategies to reduce unwanted behaviours and clear, step-by-step guidance to build new skills.
Want to see what it looks like? Check out the example in the photos below.
What happens during the in-person sessions?
In-person sessions are about equipping you with the confidence and skills to support your dog’s progress at home. While hands-on practice is part of the session, much of our time will focus on understanding your dog’s behaviour and how to create lasting change.
Here’s what we’ll cover:
- Catching up on progress: We’ll review what’s working, address any challenges, and refine your training plan as needed.
- Deepening your understanding: Through questions and discussion, I’ll help you interpret your dog’s behaviour and better understand what they’re communicating.
- Exploring practical changes: Together, we’ll identify adjustments to your routine, environment, or interactions that can set your dog up for success.
- Practising key behaviours: We’ll also work on specific skills, with me guiding you to feel confident continuing at home.
These sessions focus on empowering you—not just to practise behaviours but to fully understand your dog and build the relationship you both deserve.
How does remote support work?
For four weeks, you’ll have ongoing access to me for questions, updates, and guidance. Whether through WhatsApp, email or voicenote check-ins, I’ll be there to keep you on track, celebrate wins, and help with any hurdles.
Who is this best for?
This package is ideal if you’re working on complex behaviours, need help with multiple issues, or want a thorough, structured approach. It’s perfect for creating a solid foundation and achieving lasting results, with personalised support every step of the way.
ONE-OFF BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT
What happens during the session?
During our hour together, we’ll focus on your current priorities- whether that’s tackling a single behaviour, reviewing your progress, or building on previous training. I’ll provide targeted advice and practical guidance to help you move forward with confidence.
Who is this for?
This is ideal if:
- You have one specific behaviour challenge you’d like to address.
- You’re looking to follow up on previous training and set new goals together.
- You want to focus on practical solutions and make as much progress as possible in one session, while recognising that lasting change often requires ongoing support.
Where can we meet?
Choose between a remote session or an in-person visit. If we meet in person and you’re more than 5 miles from Woolton, a small travel fee will apply.
This session gives you the flexibility to address what matters most, with expert advice tailored to your needs.
